BALLELA TO MILAN – a 6yo gelding by Coolmore Stud’s Arc winner, Dylan Thomas, showed tremendous presence and ability to impress the judges week after week, finishing 10th overall and winning the Top TB prize of €150. He had previously raced for Dermot McLoughlin.
At 17.1hh, the gentle giant stole the show at the presentation in his beautiful rug in the blazing sunshine at Meadows Equestrian Centre. Congratulations to retrainer Julie Donaghy Simpson, owner Zara McAvoy and rider Michael McGaffin. This horse has given connections a wonderful time winning showing classes wherever he travels, and now a bright future in eventing seems well within his grasp.
McGaffin also picked another Dressage prize in the Intro Class on his mount CLEBOURNE, a 7yo by Camacho who was formerly trained by Darren Bunyan to win at Dundalk. Lucca Stubington’s Kessler also picked up two prizes along the way and Sharon Madine’s Miguel Angel also featured in the ribbons.
This was a super series, run by Dora Beacom representing the Northern region of Eventing Ireland and sponsored by Judy Maxwell of Baileys Horse Feeds.
