TREO EILE SHOWING SERIES 2022

TREO EILE launches SHOWING SERIES for 2022 ?
We are excited to announce our SHOWING SERIES for 2022 which invites former racehorses to compete as Riding Horses at eight key shows throughout Ireland, where the first two at each event will go forward to a final at the National Horse & Pony Championships at Killossery on August 6th.
Treo Eile’s Anne O’Connor explained “We’ve taken a good look at the calendar and found eight shows that are happy to host two classes each.  A Novice for those retraining under a year and an Open for the more experienced combinations.  This gives everyone a chance to compete against their own level and go forward to a Grand Finale”.  The selected venues will judge under their own rules and all bookings and queries can be directed to their specific pages.
Treo Eile’s objective to support the retraining community by placing prizes at selected events for retrained racehorses around the country began in 2021 and is building every year.  This series forms part of a portfolio of events across the disciplines including Dressage Ireland and an Eventing League launched earlier this month.  In addition to these classes, we will also be adding the €50 Treo Eile Bonus to the highest placed TB (1st-6th) in any workers classes.
Retraining for the show ring has been increasingly popular with some big names reaching the top level including Sizing Australia who finished 3rd at the RDS in the Show Hunter Class.  Last year’s most prolific winner was Woodland Opera with Jamie Buckley on board. The former jessica Harrington-trained gelding won at Nugentstown, Glandoran and Killossery before a major triumph at the postponed ITBA-sponsored Rachorse Class at Balmoral.
Prizes for each leg: Rug and Rosettes with prize money 1st to 6th place.
€150 winner, €60 2nd,€30 3rd, €20 4th, €20 5th, €20 6th
