Eventing League Week 2 – Impressive Arrival for Ennis

Nicola Ennis & Dawn Arrival Strike for a win in Tyrella

Former Jim Bolger-trained DAWN ARRIVAL (Dawn Approach) stormed to the top of the league table after a fine perfomance in Tyrella’s first event of 2022 on a hot, sunny day in County Down.

Dora Beacom’s team put on a super, testing and up to height track in both the show jumping and the eventing courses and there were 15 Thoroughbreds in action throughout the day, but it was Ennis that landed the spoils, finishing the best in her EI110 class.  Jumping fluently throughout, the combination never looked in doubt for the double clear and scored an impressive 28.8 in their dressage.

“Next stop is a 2 Star short in Ballindenisk” says Ennis of her 7YO.

2nd place in the Treo Eile Thoroughbred League table is Robbie Collins who finished 2nd in the EI90 class on his 5YO DUNRATH ARCHIBALD (by Chinook Eclipse).

Steven Smith and HANDSOME STARR (by September Storm) were another pair clear at 110, this time the Open class.  However an unlucky pole in the jumping cost them the top spot.
