Springing into Action: Randox Health Show Jumping Clinic
The first Randox Health Ireland Clinic of 2024 took place on Saturday in Emerald Equestrian. There were four group lessons available with Commandant Geoff Curran with a focus on Show Jumping. The clinic was completely full and it was great to see lots of smiling faces throughout the day. There were 18 participants divided up between the four lessons, including three U18 riders. Each group was pitched at different heights to allow for all stages of development and abilities.
Throughout the clinic, the focus was on rideability and technique, emphasizing the riders’ attention to detail and communication with their horses. Geoff’s expert instruction ensured that each participant focused on their presentation to the fences as well as keeping the correct rhythm through all phases of the jump. Each lesson began with some gymnastic exercises which really encouraged the horses to find their feet and take care with what they are doing. This gradually progressed to a course of fences over the course of the lesson.
Within Treo Eile, a vibrant equestrian community has blossomed, and this was evident in the warmth of camaraderie and mutual support among riders and spectators at the clinic. It was heartening to witness the genuine friendships that are forming within this close-knit group, transcending mere riding partnerships. This sense of community not only enhances the experience but also fosters a welcoming environment where riders feel encouraged to push themselves and strive for excellence together. As bonds continue to strengthen and friendships deepen, it’s clear that within Treo Eile, the journey is just as rewarding as the destination.
