Treo Eile Polo Rewards

The thoroughbred encompasses all the qualities required for the fast moving game of polo – agility, speed, temperament and they are quick learners.  The thoroughbred MONKEY PUZZLE played at the highest level, at the Polo World Cup.

The off the track racehorse is sourced and rewarded by the polo community globally, with the Irish thoroughbred in particular, a sought after commodity.  To acknowledge Polo as a second career option for racehorses, Treo Eile are very pleased to reward a low-goal and a high-goal thoroughbred within four tournaments again in 2024.  Commencing on July 6th at Bishopsland Polo Club, a team of judges will be present to judge the ‘Best Playing Thoroughbred’ in both categories.  The Polo Trainer associated with each winning thoroughbred will also be acknowledged. Having  sourced and retrained the horses for their second career, they are the main contributor to the success and progression of thoroughbreds in polo.

  • Horses must be referred to using the name as per the Weatherbys or equivalent recognised foreign racing authority passport.
  • Any horses competing for the Treo Eile Polo Awards, should be registered with Treo Eile (FREE on www.treoeile.com/register).  When registering the horses, noting the ‘polo’ option in disciplines, will allow Treo Eile to raise the profile of polo as a second career opportunity for thoroughbreds.  The number of horses registered with Treo Eile, assists Treo Eile in sourcing funding to re-distribute as sponsorship / training rewards under the ‘Support’ pillar of the Treo Eile Mission.
